Donald K. Allen for President
A Night in the Lincoln Bedroom
Our White House belongs to the people of this great country, and one political “reward” during previous administrations was an invitation to spend a night in the famous Lincoln Bedroom. Presidential pals and political contributors have slept there, along with dignitaries and family members (go to http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1997/02/25/clinton.money/list.html).
I will ask each branch of our Armed Forces, on a rotating basis, to select a married Purple Heart recipient to spend a Saturday night in the Lincoln Bedroom, including dinner in the White House. These brave citizens have paid the room rate in blood, and none deserve to enjoy this part of their heritage more than they. On other nights I will invite ordinary citizens, without concern for political inclination, to reward outstanding contributions to their communities, country, and humanity. It’s time this favor was granted to those who truly deserve it.
