America is the Land of Opportunity.  It has always been a magnet for people who wanted to live free and realize their dreams.  There are hundreds of thousands of stories of Americans who came to this country penniless and accomplished great deeds and sometimes great wealth.  Our country hasn’t changed, and the opportunities to change lives may be greater than ever.

There are things that I would change to make America better.   Respondents to my campaign website have indicated that national security is by far their greatest concern.  It is three-to-one greater than all other issues listed.  Securing our borders is the first step toward improving our country’s overall security, and the Mexican border fence will be completed my first year in office.  The USA PATRIOT Act addresses increasing security on the Canadian border, but says nothing about the Mexican border!

Nothing will improve the economy for Americans and American businesses more than establishing The Fair Tax and eliminating all Federal income tax for individuals and companies.  It will destroy any recession in one day.  It will bring jobs back home.  It will build prosperity for all.  It will make all the debate over “tax cuts” irrelevant.  It will eliminate the punitive, 60,000-page tax code we now labor under.

Tort reform and loser pays policy will relieve the crushing burden on our legal system and benefit everyone.  These two changes will also significantly reduce the costs of health care and all forms of insurance.  Doctors will not be driven by insurance companies and the specter of law suits.  The expenses borne by all pay for insurance will go down, and health insurance will become more affordable.

By completing the mission of creating a free and secure Iraq, we will take another step toward peace in the Middle East.  Accomplishing this will also be a blow against radical terrorists and their mission of world conversion and dominance.  Becoming independent of foreign oil will relieve the undue influence of the OPEC cartel and its stranglehold on world economies.  We will find an alternative fuel, and perhaps a significantly better one.

Education is the key to the future of our country, and with the help of American teachers, we will reform our school systems and ensure that every child has access to a college education. This has to be the underlying, ongoing mission to ensure that America will continue to be the world’s leader and the most prosperous country in the world.

Public health issues, including mental health, a safe and healthy food and water program, quality medical care, and disease prevention, will become key missions of our government, and we will work to keep them in the forefront of our goals.  My training as a veterinarian and as a military public health officer has enabled me to think on a “herd health” basis and address our entire population’s needs.

Every presidency is faced with different challenges, decisions, and crises.  No candidate is totally prepared for what lies ahead, but with the very best qualified people to turn to for information, opinions, and advice, I will make confident decisions on all issues that will affect our Nation and we the people.
