Will we ever see honesty and ethics in politics again?  When we consider the fine ideals of our Founding Fathers, and their sincere concerns for the future, their efforts were the epitome of nobility and altruism.  The documents they produced were both eloquent and strong, obviously well thought-out and reviewed.  They did the work all themselves, and what we see is a true reflection of the man who wrote the speech or document.

Today’s politicians have speech writers, political analysts, and campaign managers who direct the candidates, tell them what to say, what the people are wanting to hear, and how to present it.  It truly makes one wonder what the person is really like.  In the late 18th Century every leader was his own man, and spoke his own convictions and beliefs without dozens of people propping him up from behind the curtains.  That’s what we need again today in our leaders.

What will our politicians be like after the campaigning is over and the campaign staff is gone?  That’s when the individual’s true personality will emerge and that’s what you’ll have to live with if you elected him or her.  You never know what someone is really like until you live with them.  Once that person is in office, however, it will take something horrendous to impeach them.  We’ve seen how difficult that can be even with someone lying to a Congressional inquiry.

Some of the Founding Fathers were already proven leaders, but the majority were educated achievers from a variety of backgrounds.  No professional politicians, but worthy men who chose to work and pledge their very lives for the betterment of all Americans.  It’s time for fresh minds, fresh thinking, and new solutions to problems that have been plaguing our country for decades.  Although Congress has been debating key issues like tort reform for many years, nothing has been done.  If the Founding Fathers took that long to get things done we might not have ever developed a Union.

As an independent President, I would bring to the office a new perspective on critical issues that need to be resolved.  Still relying on key expert advice and experience from a staff selected for competence rather than political connectedness, I would be able to make sound decisions for the best interest of our country and each and every American.  It truly is time that we the people became more important to those in power than special interest groups, party leaders, and big business influence.  With an independent President, your interests would be paramount, and the future of your family would again be foremost in all considerations.
