Donald K. Allen for President
Top of the Week
Monday, March 10, 2008
On Tuesday evening, March 4, we held our first campaign meeting at a local restaurant, hosting about 50 people. It was basically a question and answer session for interested friends and supporters to hear my positions and gauge the quality of my presentation and answers. The food was very good and everyone came away with a better understanding of my platform and vision for America.
Coming up on the calendar is an April 5 & 6 meeting in Cincinnati of independent candidates for president. This may be our first exposure to national media coverage, and the objective is to give everyone an opportunity to speak to America, and perhaps narrow the field of independents. All independents are watching to see who gets “traction,” which translates to media attention, and they will back that person.
The Republican nominee indicated that he would continue many of President Bush’s programs and policies. Does this mean moving forward with creation of the North American Union, NAFTA Superhighway, and open borders? I believe Senator McCain is not going to secure our southern border or he would have already said so. Without the consent of a majority of Americans, the Executive branch is selling out our Nation’s sovereignty.
The Democratic candidates are agreeing on the Liberal/socialist objective of an “equal redistribution of wealth.” The problem with this goal is that they never include their wealth in this plan. In socialist states the leaders always live much higher than the working society of “equal” citizens. Beware of candidates who say they are going to help the needy by taking away from those who have worked hard and become successful in life. As Senator Obama stated, every American has a right to work and support his family. Just don’t work too hard or be too ambitious, because “excessive” income will be redistributed.
Let us follow the ideals of our great leaders – George Washington, who helped free and found our Nation; Abraham Lincoln, who preserved our Union and gave his life for it; and Ronald Reagan, who faced our country’s greatest threat and saw victory of America over communism. Register to vote. Make Nov. 4, 2008, your day to stand up and be counted as a concerned, sincere American who wants what will be best for our children, grandchildren, and our country. Your vote will count.
